Whenever I do Windows Updates inside of any VM, I am unable to connect to the VM during the update process. I get prompted for a reboot to do the updates so I do. The machine shows running and I can see the last saved thumbnail when I select the VM in HyperV manager. However, when I click to connect to the VM using Enhanced Session I get stuck at black screen saying Connecting to "VMNAME"...
I tried to connect without Enhanced Session and I get to the gray page showing the time and date. The time being displayed is not correct it seems like that was last thumbnail it saved which is being displayed. This happens to all my VMs when I try to do
an update and I am wondering if this is normal. I assume its probably at the stage of applying updates like when you update client versions of Windows but doesn't show it. I usually wait for some time then I am able to connect to the VM and updates are installed
fine. Is there anything to change this behavior or is something wrong?
