I have been tasked to setup a Virtualized environment, to replace a physical WORKGROUP with 20 computers, running windows Xp, in a medical center.
I have provided the details or the hardware purchased as well as the Licenses.

2 x DELL Server 96GB RAM Windows Server 2012 R2 on each
30 x Dell Thin Clients
30 X Device CALs for RDS or Terminal Services
600GB X 12 SAN Storage
48 port switch
----------------------------------------------------------------------The idea is to have
1 . Domain Controller (AD/DNS/DHCP)
2. Hyper-V
3. 30 x Guest VMs or VDI (not sure which will work best or how to set it up, Pooled VM, Guest VMs?)
4. If one server operating as per above, fails, the secondary server, with the same configuration takes over, with minimum down time.
I have come to this forum to seek some guidance, as to how to go about setting this environment up, i have the time to invest and i am a Network Guy, and have worked with servers, but in early 2000's
Any step-by-step setup or or video Tutorial would be appreciated.
By the way, i was advised by a friend, that i can not have hyper-v and AD/DC on the same Server, i don't understand why, if any one can explain, that would be greatly appreciated.
