Hyper-v replication broken - Hyper-V failed to enable replication for virtual machine The connection with the server was terminated abnormally (0x00002EFE)

1) We had a pair of server 2012 physical servers with hyper-v up and replicating properly.

These servers were members of domain A with the 2 domain controllers for domain A residing on the two hyper-v servers.

2) We created 2 new VM domain controllers for domain B on the 2 hyper-v hosts.

3) The 2 hyper-v Hosts were moved from domain A to domain B.

We are no longer to establish hyper-v replication betwbetween hyper-v host machines. - we get the following error:

 Hyper-V failed to enable replication for virtual machine 'XXX': The connection with the server was terminated abnormally (0x00002EFE). (Virtual Machine ID XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX)

Any ideas?  We are ready to rebuild the hyper-v host machines.
