Hello All:
I'm having an issue with one VM on a Windows Server 2008 R2 host machine. I'll refer to the host machine as Host and the two virtual machines as VMa and VMb. Here goes...
I log on to the Host via Remote Desktop (either from a MacBook or iOS) and start the Hyper-V Manager application. Originally everything was working just fine and I could start a connection via Hyper-V Manager to both VMa and VMb. At one point, after installing some updates, I restarted VMa. After it restarted, I again attempted to logon by connecting through the Hyper-V Manager. The main startup screen for VMa comes up as expected, I then hit the Ctl-Alt-Delete button on the Manager Connection window and that brings me to the logon screen. Administrator is the default user ID and in the Password field, there are grey letters saying Password. I use the mouse to click in the password field and the grey Password disappears and the insert cursor appears in the field. Then, using the keyboard, I attempt to enter in the password for VMa, but nothing happens. No input is received by VMa. Eventually, the logon screen times out and VMa returns to the main startup screen. If I go through the exact same process with VMb, everything works as expected and I can logon and administer the server as usual.
I have restarted the host and the VM's, but it makes no difference. VMa remains inaccessible to me. I've tried everything I can think of to regain access, but to no avail.
Any thoughts or ideas on how to re-access VMa would be most appreciated! Otherwise, I guess I will have to delete and recreate it.
B.
