Windows Server SAC Update Hyper-V Error

Hi,

We have installed Windows Server 1909 (SAC) in our testenviroment 3 month ago.

Today i wanted to update the Hosts and VMs to version 2004. After the Upgrade on the Host completed, all VMs are gone. They are no longer registered but the Data is still there. When I try to import the VMs back in, it doesnt find the VM Data and errors out. All of the Data is still there but it doesnt take it.

After this Disapointment I rolled back the Backup and tried again. This time I merged all Checkpoints and exported all the VMs to be extra safe.

After the Update the VMs were gone again and i could not even import the exported VMs (Unexpected error 0x80004005). If one or more VMs is still running, the Update doesnt run and forces my to shutdown or save the VMs.

The Host remained unchangend during the Update, IP and Hostname were still set to right data but i cant get Hyper-V to work right after the Update.

Device-Manager doesnt show any errors and all drivers are still there.

Does anyone have a clue why Hyper-V is not surviving the Update? In SAC the different Builds only get support for 18 Months so you are forced to do an Update somewhere down the line. Installing the whole infrastructure every 18 months doesent seem right anyway.

Thanks for any advise.

Stefan
