I have been trying to disable Hyper-V on Windows 10 in order to run VMWare and have been unable to. I continue to get the following error from VMware Workstation 15 Player:
"VMware Player and Hyper-V are not compatible. Remove the Hyper-V role from the system before running VMware Player."
My OS specs:
- Edition: Windows 10 Pro
- Version: 1809
- OS build: 17763.557
I have tried the following:
- Running these on an elevated CMD:
- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
- sfc /scannow
- In elevated Powershell:
- Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V-All
It also recommends reinstalling .NET framework, which did not help.
- I have disabled all features related to Hyper-V through Programs and Features
- I have run:
- Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V-Hypervisor
- In an elevated Powershell
This did not work either.
I have tried running:
bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off
In an elevated Powershell session. This did not work either.
I can't find any other steps online to disable Hyper-V and I'm completely out of ideas. Any help would be much appreciated.
