Dynamic VHD consumes entire size on disk

Hi, 

I have a dynamic 22GB VHD attached and mounted on a Debian VM. 

The disk is blank, but when I look at the storage I can see that its size is 22GB. 

What am I missing here? Should I convert it to VHDX?
