My boss has two hyper-v 2012 R2 hosts. One host is connected to a external storage and has ist own storage. The second host has only it´s own storage.
Now that I am replication from host1 (where the vm files are stored on the external storage) to host2 the disk space of host2 runs out of space.
Thererfore I am wondering if anybody might let me know how I can set the host2 to use the same external storage (Maybe with a network share) of host1 instead of it´s own storage to store the replica. Maybe with screenshot or detailed instruction which options to select.
Can I use a network share instead of this mentioned C:\VMs\ here https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/canitpro/2012/09/11/default-file-locations-in-hyper-v/ ?!?
Can I install a second (bigger) storage in host2 as drive D: and set host2 to D:\VMs to store the replica of host1 where the VMs are located at E:\VMs ?!?
Thank you in advance
Dirk Lehmann
P.S.: Can I replica between host1 and host2 and use the same (raid5)storage connected to host1? Maybe by using just different folders.
