Hi,
I have a dilemma what to do. I am new in my role and have inherited 2 Dell R300 machines each running 800GB RAID1 local storage and 32 GB of RAM. The current virtual setup running Server 2008 R2 is done so that all 9 guest OS are on 1 machine, the other machine is not used.
I need to provide some fault tolerance with a SAN but don't want to spend to much. Can the SMB 3.0 stuff that's new in 2012 actually handle large loads of virtual machines? Would a cheap iSCSI SAN be a better option? I require about 5TB of usable storage.
For some extra points... :-)
Once I have some shared storage in place I plan to implement some cluster aware storage. Does anyone know if there is any hyper-v cluster aware storage around that can back up to off site?
