I'm trying to move a VM from physical drive D: to C: on my hyper-v server 2012 r2. The "move" command doesn't work (apparently that only works if you have a domain server and I don't - this is a home environment), and if I try to import after exporting it comes up with an error that the identifier already exists. I also noted that the creation date during import is whacky (1/1/1601 00:00:00).
Is there any simple way to move a VM from one disk to another inside the same server, or do i need to continue the route I'm on but delete the "old exported VM" before importing the exported one? I'm worried that I my completely lose everything if the import doesn't work and I've deleted the original VM after exporting.
