Hi there,
I've been messing around with this problem since I don't know anymore so I need help.
I've got a Hyper-V installation on top of Windows Server 2012 R2 with two hardware nodes running in a failover cluster setup. So far everything seems to work fine except on little thing which is that when ever there was no traffic reaching one of the virtual hosts the initial network connect to any of them fails. In fact I think it times out.
Here's an example: Opening a webpage hosted on one of the virtual guests "hangs" until the browser gives up due to a timeout. As soon as I reload the page (or the browser by its own) it works.
Another example: Connecting to one of the virtual hosts using RDP client fails with a time out for the first try. A second one immediately after the first failed, works.
In terms of the network there is one router in between the systems (client/server) between which the problem occurs. The interesting part is the following: Being connected to the same VLAN the virtual guests are placed at with the client system, things work. If the client is placed in another VLAN, the problem occurs. Of course I did check what ever I was able to think of in terms of the routers (actual L3 switches).
Anybody ever seen problems like this?
Thx n greez.
