Hypervisor and VMs storage deployment for performance...

Hi All,

I want to know if the Hyper-V VMs performance that are running on a speed SAS SSD Raid array is affected because of the Hyper-V host (the hypervisor) is running on spinning disks (HDDs).

I had setup a Hyper-V 2012 R2 Cluster using Shared DAS solution provided by LSI Syncro and planning to store our VMs on a RAID 10 array build from 6 SAS 12Gb SSDs, but the Hyper-V host OS will runs on two mirror HDDs.

Does VMs performance affected in some way, because the hypervisor is running on a slower storage then the VMs is running?

Is the hypervisor OS/kernel full loaded in the memory as so there will not be any lack of performance communication between the hypervisor (host partition) and the VM (guest partition)?

Thank you very much...
