This may be a stupid question but here goes. I have deployed a single stand-alone Hyper-V server with Windows 2012 Server as a VM. In a book I am reading on Hyper-V it tells me in the installation of the first Hyper-V Server to have it join
the domain. I have been using this server for awhile and just recently tried to move it from a workgroup to my present domain with a domain controller already established. When I did this I lost communication with my online storage which houses
my VM's which also has joined the domain. I know this is a basic configuration issue. Eventually I will have to do some Live Migrations which will need configuration form Active Directory. Should my first Hyper-V server be in the domain?
Can I perform Live Migrations without my Hyper-V Servers being in the domain? How should this be configured?
