usb access in hyper v

on my laptop running win 8 pro   i need to be able to have usb accses to hyper v  running win xp 

i have instaled a software  seimens step 7 plc programing  and it needs to be activated using a usb

i can not figure out how to get my usb to show up in hyper v    most of the info i find is about win 2012 server and that dose not really help me as i dont have that

any help is appreciated
