vhd resize issues

Hey guys,

So I'm trying to use the edit disk option to increase the size of a vhd. Unfortunately the VM using the VHD has a snapshot so from what I can tell I have to revert the VM to the snapshot. I keep running into some errors though and just want to make sure I'm going about this the right way.

"An error occurred while attempting to revert the virtual machine."

Is what happens every time I try to revert it. When I expand for details it just gives me the virtual machine ID.

If I try to use edit disk to reconnect and resize I get a "failed to set new parent for the virtual disk"

"There exists ID mismatch between the differencing virtual hard disk and the parent disk"

every time.

I've tried checking the "ignore ID mismatches" and I still end up getting an error "Failed to set new parent for the virtual disk"

For details; I'm running hyperv on a windows 8 machine and the VM is on a server 2012 machine.

Please let me know if anyone has ideas or tips and if more information is needed.
