Usually I create one external virtual switch and apply it to all servers that need access to the Internet and LAN. I've seen other sysadmins create one virtual switch for each server even if all servers virtual switch is set for external. for example, exchange
server would have an external switch named exch_ext and a domain controller DC_ext.
What are some best practices to follow when creating virtual switches on Hyper-V?
btw, My system is Hyper-v 2012 R2 (free edition) 2 NICs teamed for management and 4 NICs teamed for VMs.
