I'm pretty new to this virtual machine stuff, so please bear with me if my question is elementary. I have two VMs installed under 2012R2. The virtual DVD drives of each function correctly to read/load ISO files. But what about the physical DVD drive mounted
in the host server? Do VMs have the ability to connect or read physical disk media from that drive? If not, then is the only way to load applications or files into the VMs by means of ISO images, or are there other ways? I read that previous versions
of Hyper-V supported physical DVDs but I am uncertain as to whether R2 allows it.
