Hello everyone,
I've been trying to research this, but perhaps I'm typing in my search criteria wrong. I am currently running VMware 5.5 for most of our servers in the shop. However, we are wanting to convert some machine over to Hyper-V 2012 R2. Probably about 25. They will be on three HP DL360's tied into a Cisco MDS fiber switch, which then ties into an EMC VNXe. I've been researching this for a while and have a lab up and running, but only using ISCSI and SMB.
Do you configure all of your Hyper-V hosts for shared storage on the SAN as you would do in VMware? E.g. Zoning all servers to see they same storage via the MDS to the EMC. I don't plan on booting from SAN. I would just like to access my datastores or LUNS as I do in VMware. However, if I am thinking correctly, only the Quorum drive for the cluster would not be a pass-through disk. The pass-through disks would be created for all the Hyper-V hosts on the SAN to see?
Thanks
