[Forum FAQ] How to install the Linux system Integration Service on Hyper-V

This a guide about how to install the Integration service 3.5 on CentOS 6.2 x86_x64.

Before install the Integration service you can use the following command to check whether the Integration service is installed or not (Figure 1).

#lsmod | grep hv

If there is no output, it means that the Integration Service is not installed. We can following the steps below to install it.

1. Download the Integration Service 3.5 image.

2. Install the Integration Service image.

1) Open Hyper-V Linux guest VM console.

2) Click Media -> DVD Drive -> Specific the Integration Service image location, insert Disk.

3) If automount is enabled, the Integration Service image will automatically mounted. If not, please use the following command to mount the image (Figure 2).

#mount /dev/cdrom /media

4) Open the console, switch to root user and then locate the image directory (Figure 3).

5) Use following command to start the installation of Integration Service.

#./install.sh

System will start the install process (Figure 4).

6) Reboot system.

3. Verify the installation.

After system boots up, we can confirm the command below to verify the result (Figure 5):

#lsmod | grep hv
