I'm trying to use the vhdtool.exe /repair , but nothing happens. 2008 R2. And yes I tried to expand with a snapshoot, so now I'm hoping for this tool to save me.
I have placed the vhdtool.exe file under same folder as the vhd and ahvd files, and run the cmd as admin from the same place as vhd fils are. And I expect that the < and > and the [ ] shall be left out when typing the file name and "repair"
and that the avh and avhd shall be included in the file name.
I think the reason for nothing happens is that the filenames have a space in them. That's the only reason I can think about. There is no error message. It just list the options for the vhd-tool.
So my question is, can I rename my vhd and avhd files by using file mangaer ?
Or can I delete the snapshot the propper way, (not using file manager), and then hope for that the virtual machine will start ?
I expect by deleting the snapshot I will loose all changes (in that machine) since from the date the snapshoot was created ?
