Hi,
I am looking for the preferred NIC assignments for the following setup:
- 1 NIC with 4 x 1GB ports
- The virtual servers need access to the trusted and DMZ LAN. As the VMs are internet facing, most customer traffic will go to DMZ
- There will be other Hyper-V servers, but fail-over clustering is not activated on them. I will use replica's and would like to be able to do live migrations.
My first idea was to team two ports for trusted, and two ports for DMZ. But when I assigned the virtual switch to the trusted network I lost network and realized that this may not be the best idea. I probably need at least one NIC for the management. New idea is to assign two NICs on trusted: one for management to the trusted network with jumbo frames enabled (for live migrations), one for the virtual switch on the trusted network and then a teamed NIC connected to a DMZ virtual switch.
Is this a better setup? Or would you suggest other assignments.
