Hi all,
As I know I have to backup the whole C drive and VM data drive (e.g. D drive) if I want to perform the application recovery (I've already to modified the registry to register the Hyper-V application for WSB). Now I have a few questions.
- I have a lot of VM unrelated data in D drive. May I only backup VM related data such VM configuration files or VHD files in D drive? I tested in my test environment but unfortunately it failed. There was only an "intial Store" item in the "Application components".
- After I had backed up the whole C drive and D drive, I was able to perform the application recovery. However, it looks like all the VMs were restored. But I only want to restore one of the VMs. I don't want to restore other VMs. Because there are a lot of important addtional data in other VMs after last backup point.
- Actually what I wish is to restore the specific VM with its snapshots. If I cannot restore the snapshots, it means I dare not take any snapshots becuase I have to delete the snapshots before WSB backup schedule. But it almost impossiable to delete the snapshots because It's almost impossible to shut down the VMs which are critial servers to merge the VHDs.
Thanks,
