server 2012 Hyper-v disk

Hi All,

I've scoured the forums, and I don't believe I've missed anything. I was using Hyper-v on a windows 8 machine, and read to find the limitations in terms of VHD size. I upgraded to Server 2012, and I have 5 physical disks @ 2tb each.

I created a storage pool on the HOST, bringing the disk to (almost) 10tb (9.74tb)

However, i am STILL facing a limitation of 2048gb (1.00tb usable) in my VMs! I was under the impression that server 2012 and the VHDx would allow for disk size up to 64 t. So now im stuck trying to find a clever way to have a single disk represented for my 10tb. This is to be used for a fileshare inter-office, so having multiple disks isn't necessarily an option (as the users who will be using it aren't necessarily tech savvy.)

Any ideas would be great. thanks!
