vmconnect.exe stopped working

Hello all,

when trying to connect to a VM using the console in Hyper-V manager I am getting vmconnect.exe has stopped working with the following error.

Is there anything specific I can do to resolve this, I have searched the forums but the responses vary and seem very vague as to what is the actual solution to the issue.
